//practphil-biennale.aegean.gr/home_page_biennale_2021/guidelines_for_seminar_biennale_2021/
& http://practphilab.aegean.gr/doctoral-candidates-seminar-2021/

//practphil-biennale.aegean.gr/home_page_biennale_2021/guidelines_biennale_2021/
//practphil-biennale.aegean.gr/home_page_biennale_2021/guidelines_for_seminar_biennale_2021/
3rd step: Submission Forms: For oral communications, workshops, round tables and PhD(c) Seminar, click here & for e-posters, here
- What scientific contribution do I need to provide in order to attend Biennale?
We provide the following presentation methods for virtual participants:
-You can apply for evaluation an abstract for oral communication, workshop & round table (for more information, see here)
-For e-poster, that will be posted permanently (for more information, see also here)
-For the 3rd Online Doctoral Students International Seminar on Practical Philosophy
If your proposal is accepted, then you can proceed to register (//practphil-biennale.aegean.gr/home_page_biennale_2021/abstract_submission_biennale_2021/ & //practphil-biennale.aegean.gr/home_page_biennale_2021/e-poster_submission/).
- Do I have to send a full paper?
A full text submission isn’t mandatory before the Biennale. Full text will be asked for the Biennale’s Proceedings with ISBN. For more instructions regarding the Proceedings, see here
- Is a full paper obligatory for a presentation?
No it is not. You will be asked though to provide a ppt in order to permit the multilingual audience to follow easier the presentation (this does not apply to e-posters).
About the ppts guidelines for virtual participation/presentation, please see here
- Can I participate with more than one proposals?
It is possible to submit more than one proposals, but in different sections of the Biennale (i.e. oral communication, workshop, round table, e-poster, 3rd Online Doctoral Students International Seminar: Research Themes III, 2021-2022/Practical Philosophy).
Nevertheless, if the timetable does not allow this multiple participation, whereas all the proposals submitted by the same author or authors have been approved, then the author will be invited to choose one of them in order to be included in the final program.
- If I submit a proposal to the 3rd Online Doctoral Students International Seminar on Practical Philosophy, I can also submit to the Biennale?
Yes, it is possible, because the Phd(c) Seminar is about Practical Philosophy in general, whereas the Biennale is focused on the concept of Gesture. Consequently, you cannot submit two proposals on Practical Philosophy & Gesture: if this would be the case, you will be invited to resubmit only the one of them. In other words, you can submit a proposal concerning the subject of Practical Philosophy for the Seminar and one related to Practical Philosophy & Gesture for the Biennale.
- What is the proposal format and words limit?
The abstract should be within the limit of 500 words for oral communication, workshop and round table & 150 for e-poster. For more details, see //practphil-biennale.aegean.gr/home_page_biennale_2021/guidelines_biennale_2021/ & //practphil-biennale.aegean.gr/home_page_biennale_2021/guidelines_for_seminar_biennale_2021/

About Registration (procedure & fees)
- I want to register for a conference: how do I proceed?
The first step on registering for the 2nd International Biennale of Practical Philosophy (I.B.P.Ph.) is filling in the online registration form, which can be found at «Registration» tab and specifically here (will be activated soon).
- I have missed the registration deadline. Is there any other way to register to the conference?
You can contact the IBPPh’s secretary, at lab-prapl-ph@aegean.gr, to ask for a possibility of a deadline extension.
- Can I withdraw my registration and the paper I submitted to the conference?
You can withdraw your paper any time till the completion of your registration. If you have though completed your registration & you want to withdraw it, you can do it only until October 15.
In this case of withdrawal, we will remove your personal data including the paper from our system & you will be informed by personal message about the return process.
- What are the registration fees?
The registration and publishing fees are provided at «Registration» tab on the main menu of the Βiennale’s website.
Otherwise, you can see a more detailed fee table on the «Registration Form» while you register.
- Why are you charging fees?
Given that our Βiennales are self-budgeted, we need to collect fees to cover organizational costs, article processing & publishing, website maintenance, IT services and secretarial works.
- Can I join the conference without any payment?
Yes, if you are a student (graduate, post-graduate & doctoral student) at the University of the Aegean and specifically in the School of Humanities (as you can see here).
- My coauthors are registered for the conference but aren’t joining the virtual procedure. Do they still need to pay the registration fee?
If your coauthors want to obtain a certificate, then a payment is necessary following the proper registration procedure.
- I tried to make the payment using my credit/debit card and it was declined. Why?
Your attempt to pay with your credit card may not have been processed due to a failure resulting from a technical problem on your card.
As a solution, you could try to pay with another card or contact your bank to resolve the issue.
- What payment methods do you provide?
We provide three payment methods: credit/debit card (any bank card with the labels Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, etc.) and bank transfer. The details about the payment methods are provided to you as an invoice after your registration. Please make sure you check with your bank, for bank transfer fees
- Can you make a waiver or discount of the participation fee?
As the conference is self-budgeted, we are unfortunately not able to provide any sponsorship. Besides, compared to almost all other conferences with similar standards in Europe, our fees are already pretty low.
- I have paid via bank transfer but haven’t received a confirmation within the same day. Why?
International bank transfers usually take several business days. You always can mail us an image of the transfer receipt to speed up the verification though.
- Can I participate as a “Listener” only, without making any presentation?
Yes, you can register choosing the option «Audience registration» to join the conference without publishing or presenting a paper (about the fees, see here).
About Acceptance procedure
How does the acceptance procedure to the conference work?
Once you submit a proposal, the committee makes an initial review and send a status confirmation to the authors within 15 days (as you can see here: //practphil-biennale.aegean.gr/home_page_biennale_2021/guidelines_biennale_2021/ & //practphil-biennale.aegean.gr/home_page_biennale_2021/guidelines_for_seminar_biennale_2021/)
This initial acceptance status is provided based on the proposal. If the initial acceptance status is positive, the authors can freely proceed with the payment.
